Our focus is on supporting our student's learning and development through education and social care in a warm, safe, consistent and understanding environment.
All of our services have a homely feel. The children and young people in our care have bright, optimistic spaces to call their own, with the freedom to create the kind of environment they feel good about. Stourhead Healthcare's residential facilities provide between 60 and 80 square metres of floor space per resident offering a range of on-site facilities from classrooms, occupational therapy rooms, sensory rooms and open areas for leisure.
Our services have well-designed outdoor spaces with garden areas for the people in our care to plant and tend herbs, lettuces, tomatoes and vegetables. For children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorders, this kind of educational experience can be wonderfully therapeutic. The feel of the soil, the different texture of the leaves and other parts of the plants and the satisfaction of working with nature to produce tangible results. These are valuable, hands-on experiences that help those in our care understand more about their world, and more about themselves.
Our service focuses on preparing individuals to transitions into the community by promoting independent living skills, community activities and choice.
